Trans Activist Charges at Nancy Mace and Gets Kicked out of Event While Screaming

A transgender activist disrupted a speaking engagement by Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) at the Project Liberty Internet Summit at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., protesting Mace’s efforts to uphold sex-segregated restrooms on U.S. Capitol grounds.

The incident occurred when activist Evan Greer, a trans-identified male, draped in an LGBTQ+ pride progress flag, attempted to approach the stage during Mace’s talk. Security intercepted Greer before he could reach the platform.

“This is ridiculous. It’s the day after Trans Day of Visibility,” Greer shouted at Mace. In reality, the disruption occurred the day after Trans Day of Remembrance, not Trans Day of Visibility, which takes place in the spring.

Greer accused Mace of promoting “hate and lies” that allegedly contribute to violence against transgender individuals.

“Are you going to stand up for the lives of trans people, black and brown people? Are we fighting for justice?” Greer yelled as security escorted him from the venue.

Unfazed, Mace responded with a pointed retort: “God loves him, I love him, but his penis isn’t going to be in my bathroom.”

Following the incident, Mace shared her reaction on social media, describing Greer as a “raging lunatic” and criticizing the activist’s stance.

“Mentally Ill Batman swooped in and came to the rescue of all people who think women don’t deserve privacy,” she wrote.

Mace has been a vocal advocate for protecting women’s-only spaces, including bathrooms and locker rooms, from individuals of the opposite biological sex. Despite facing threats, including death threats, she remains committed to her mission.

Greer later defended his actions in a statement on social media. “I could not sit silently by while an elected official who is spreading hate & lies that are getting trans people killed pretended to care about the future or the internet,” he wrote.

“So I spoke up during Rep. Nancy Mace’s talk at the Project Liberty summit and was thrown out. I’d do it again.”

The incident comes amid growing tension over policies concerning transgender individuals’ access to sex-specific spaces. Earlier this month, Sarah McBride, a transgender individual, was elected to Congress as Delaware’s representative, prompting renewed debate over the issue.

In response, Speaker Mike Johnson recently issued an order mandating that Capitol restrooms remain sex-segregated, rendering Mace’s proposed legislation unnecessary.

While Mace celebrated the decision as a victory for women’s rights, the move has sparked outrage among progressive lawmakers and activists.

Mace’s proposed women’s rights and public safety legislation aimed to preserve female-only restrooms and locker rooms, a stance that has drawn criticism from Democrats and LGBTQ+ activists.

The clash highlights the broader cultural and political debate over transgender rights, women’s privacy, and public safety.
