Newly declassified documents from DNI Tulsi Gabbard expose the Obama administration twisted intelligence reports to create Russia election interreference scandal in 2016—solely to delegitimize President Donald Trump’s historic victory.
Internal assessments and communications proving that top Obama-era officials—including James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, and even Obama himself—collaborated to politicize raw intelligence, despite agencies clearly stating there was no significant Russian cyberattack that altered the outcome of the election.
In fact, as early as December 7, 2016, then-DNI James Clapper admitted in prepared remarks that foreign adversaries did not tamper with voting systems or change vote tallies. One day later, on December 8, a Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) explicitly stated: “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent U.S. election results by conducting malicious cyber activities.”
Despite this, a secret meeting in the White House Situation Room on December 9 laid the groundwork for what would become the phony “Trump–Russia collusion” narrative. Attendees included Clapper, Brennan, then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Secretary of State John Kerry, and Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe—many of whom later became vocal opponents of Trump.
Following the meeting, intelligence officials were ordered to create a new report to match Obama’s political agenda. Clapper’s executive assistant instructed agencies to draft a new “intelligence community assessment” (ICA) that would directly accuse Russia of interfering in the election—contradicting prior conclusions.
Gabbard revealed that the new ICA, rushed out by January 6, 2017, was based largely on discredited sources, including the infamous and debunked Steele dossier—opposition research funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Intelligence officials now confirm the report “ignored and suppressed” months of findings that showed Russia lacked the intent and ability to meaningfully impact the 2016 race.
“This was a treasonous conspiracy carried out at the highest levels of government,” Gabbard told Fox News Digital. “It was a deliberate abuse of power to reverse the will of the American people and wage a soft coup against President Trump.”
The fallout was catastrophic. The bogus Russia narrative fueled years of investigations, media smears, and political chaos—including two impeachments, arrests of Trump allies, and dangerously escalating tensions with Russia. And it was all based on lies.
Obama officials also leaked false claims to the press, intentionally misleading the public to believe that Trump had colluded with Russia—while the FBI and NSA quietly expressed doubts behind closed doors.
The criminal referrals are already underway. CIA Director John Ratcliffe previously referred John Brennan for prosecution for pushing the fake dossier. Now, criminal investigations into both Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey have been launched by the DOJ under Director Kash Patel.
President Trump responded to the revelations, stating: “I think they’re crooked as hell. Dishonest people. Maybe now they’ll finally pay the price.”
Gabbard vowed full accountability. “I’m turning over all documents to the DOJ. The American people, and President Trump, deserve justice. No one is above the law—not even Barack Obama.”
This could be the biggest abuse of power in modern U.S. history. And it’s just beginning to unravel.
