Biden administration puts border wall materials on auction: report

In its final weeks, the Biden administration is reportedly expediting the removal of unused border wall materials from the southern border, selling them through government auctions.

This move, widely criticized by opponents, is seen as a deliberate effort to hinder President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to resume border wall construction.

According to The Daily Wire, government contractor DP Trucking LLC has been tasked with transporting approximately half a mile of border wall materials daily from three key stations in Arizona: Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points.

A border patrol agent familiar with the operations revealed that the goal is to clear the materials from the border before Christmas.

“They are pulling it all off the border,” the agent said, sharing video footage of the wall components being loaded onto flatbed trucks. The materials are then transported north to be auctioned on GovPlanet, a platform for surplus government equipment sales.

GovPlanet’s website displays extensive stacks of unused border wall sections available for auction. Bidding on each portion begins at just $5. The most recent sale occurred on December 4.

Videos obtained by The Daily Wire show the materials being prepared for transport and stacked high on trucks, fueling criticism that viable resources are being discarded or sold at minimal cost.

Harold Lambeth, owner of DP Trucking LLC, confirmed his company’s involvement in transporting the materials but declined to provide additional details.

President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to resume construction of the border wall immediately after taking office, likely issuing an executive order to release the necessary funds.

During his presidency, the border wall was a cornerstone of his immigration policy, but construction was halted under the Biden administration.

Congressman Eli Crane (R-AZ) criticized the Biden administration’s actions, accusing it of deliberately sabotaging Trump’s efforts to secure the border. “They’re purposefully hamstringing an incoming president,” Crane stated.

“The Biden administration is well aware they shouldn’t have reversed the construction of the border wall. Why would they want to see President Trump succeed with policies they aggressively sabotaged?”

Critics argue that the auctioning of border wall materials not only undermines national security but also represents a waste of taxpayer-funded resources.

The move has sparked accusations that the administration is prioritizing political opposition over pragmatic border management.

Supporters of Trump’s immigration policies view the auction as an intentional obstacle to derail efforts to curb illegal immigration and secure the southern border.

Meanwhile, proponents of the Biden administration’s stance on immigration defend the halt to wall construction, citing a focus on alternative border security measures and humanitarian approaches.

As Trump prepares to reenter the White House, the removal and sale of border wall materials may become a flashpoint in debates over border security.

With a potential resumption of wall construction on the horizon, the consequences of the Biden administration’s last-minute actions will likely remain a contentious issue in U.S. politics.
