Helen Comperatore, the widow of Corey Comperatore, who tragically lost his life during a rally in Butler, has been invited to take the stage at Donald Trump’s upcoming rally at the same location. Corey was fatally shot on July 13 when a gunman opened fire with the intent to assassinate Trump.
In a recent interview with Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, Helen spoke about her late husband and the profound impact of his loss on their family.
“He saved his wife, he saved his child, and he was just the best guy. He was just the best,” Helen shared.
“He was a wonderful man, and I want everyone to remember him not just as the man who was shot at the rally, but as a great father and a great husband,” she continued.
Helen and Corey had been married for 29 years, having known each other since childhood and started dating in high school. They had two daughters, who were also present at the rally. During the shooting, Corey courageously shielded his wife and daughters from the gunfire, ultimately sacrificing his life to protect them.
Helen mentioned that she has been invited to attend Trump’s next rally in Butler, scheduled for October. However, she noted that her decision to go on stage would depend on the security measures in place at the event.
