Trump and Tom Homan ‘unhappy’ with current deportation numbers—ICE to ramp up operations

Donald Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, are reportedly frustrated with the current pace of deportations, pushing for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to accelerate their efforts.

Mass deportation was a major promise of Trump’s presidential campaign, with his supporters expecting the removal of millions of illegal immigrants.

However, according to NBC News, both Trump and Homan are dissatisfied with the numbers so far and are demanding a more aggressive approach.

A source familiar with Trump’s thinking said the president is growing increasingly frustrated, with his concerns being relayed to key figures in his administration, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and acting ICE Director Caleb Vitello.

“It’s driving him nuts they’re not deporting more people,” the source revealed.

Homan, in particular, has reportedly expressed his frustration during daily calls with ICE agents. Another source indicated that Homan is “unhappy” with the current numbers and has made his dissatisfaction clear.

Since Trump took office last month, approximately 8,000 individuals have been detained, though some have been released while others remain in deportation proceedings.

While this marks an improvement compared to the previous administration, it still falls short of the level needed to meet Trump’s campaign promise of deporting millions.

To achieve even one million deportations per year—still only a fraction of the total number of illegal immigrants in the country—ICE would need to ramp up operations to 2,700 arrests per day.

A video posted by ‘Just Jeff From Cali’ highlights the urgency, showing tens of thousands of migrants crossing the border in a matter of weeks. “The deportations aren’t going quickly enough,” he wrote, emphasizing the need for faster action.

Despite the concerns over deportation numbers, a White House spokesperson defended the administration’s efforts, stating that the Trump administration has restored law and order after four years of “Biden’s outright incompetence and negligence.”

“Hundreds of violent, predatory, and gang-affiliated criminal illegal aliens have already been rounded up and deported by ICE since President Trump took office,” the spokesperson said. “The administration is committed to securing our borders and ensuring mass deportations are conducted quickly and effectively to put Americans and America First.”
