NEW: Trump campaign calls for ‘multiple debates’ between Trump, Kamala

Senior advisor to the Donald Trump campaign, Jason Miller, has confirmed that a debate between Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris “will happen” and expressed the campaign’s desire for “multiple debates.”

According to a report from Axios, the Trump campaign has not committed to the pre-scheduled debate with ABC News. However, Miller told the outlet, “A debate will happen. I’m not sure it will be ABC.”

“Not only will there be another debate, but there should be multiple debates,” Miller added. “We believe there should be a variety of outlets hosting the debates. The public would be shortchanged if we only had one debate against Kamala Harris in the general election.”

The Trump campaign also suggested that a Spanish-American outlet could host a debate between Trump and Harris in the lead-up to the 2024 election. On Wednesday, Fox News sent an invitation to both campaigns, proposing a debate moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

“In recognition of FOX News Media’s capabilities and reputation, we cordially extend an invitation to all concerned parties to discuss our proposal. We appreciate your consideration and look forward to the opportunity to foster informed political dialogue at this pivotal moment for our nation,” the invitation letter stated.
