DNC delegates struggle to name a single accomplishment by Kamala Harris: report

What does Kamala Harris truly stand for? Even some delegates who have pledged their support to her at the Democratic National Convention seem unsure. In interviews with Breitbart, five such delegates admitted that while they admire Harris’s style, they have little idea of what her actual plans are if she becomes president, despite her current position as vice president.

Bonnie Daniels from El Paso praised President Joe Biden’s economic policies, calling them “fabulous,” but when asked about Harris, she said, “Well, you know, she’s not president; it’s Joe Biden who’s had some awesome achievements.” Daniels added, “We’re waiting for her to step it up, and let’s see if she continues his policies, and we’ll take it from there.”

Harris has remained vague about her policy agenda, which might be intentional. The Democratic National Committee’s unrevised policy platform repeatedly references Biden’s second term, allowing Harris to distance herself from those policies if needed. CNN has suggested that this strategy of staying vague could be beneficial. Harris has only agreed to one debate against Trump, while Trump’s campaign has called for three. Like Biden, Harris seems to prefer avoiding the press rather than providing clear answers about her intentions.

Luciana Garza, another delegate from Texas, echoed campaign talking points when asked about Harris’s greatest achievement, saying, “Her greatest achievement in this campaign so far… is that with Harris and Walz, we are going to fight for our freedoms, and she’s going to fight for our families and our future,” without offering specifics.

What unites these delegates is their dislike for Trump. However, given the media’s consistent bias against him, it’s possible that their opinions of Trump are shaped more by repeated negative portrayals than by a thorough understanding of his policies. Garza made this clear, stating, “And we are not going back to that MAGA Republican president.”

Sophia Rodriguez, a delegate from Ohio, cited Harris’s belief in equality and opportunity as her key achievement, though this sentiment seems more aspirational than based on concrete action. Rodriguez also mentioned the reduced insulin costs, attributing the policy to Harris, although Breitbart pointed out that this was originally a Trump initiative that Biden reversed, only to reintroduce it later.

Other delegates expressed support for Harris’s strong stance on abortion, with one saying, “Her stand on abortion and reproductive rights… she’s really been able to bring it to the people and make them understand what they’re losing, what they’ve lost, and how dangerous it really is.”

Dorris Karls from Arizona described Harris as a deep thinker who cares about the American people, highlighting the child tax credit as an example of her concern. However, this credit was actually increased during Trump’s presidency, with Harris voting against it as a senator, and it was later championed by J.D. Vance before Harris supported it.

In summary, while Harris’s supporters appreciate her style and stance on certain issues, there is still uncertainty about her specific plans and policies as a potential president.
