Elon Musk says the two-party system is broken, and he just launched a the new ‘America Party’ to prove it.
This comes just one day after President Donald Trump signed the monumental One Big Beautiful Bill, a $3.3 trillion economic package that includes infrastructure spending, tax relief, and stimulus.
While Musk didn’t name the bill directly, the timing of his move suggests a growing rift between the billionaire industrialist and Trump’s MAGA movement, especially over what Musk sees as reckless spending—by both Republicans and Democrats.
Posting to X, Musk declared, “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.
Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom. https://t.co/9K8AD04QQN
Earlier this week, Musk ran a viral poll asking users whether America needs “independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system.” Over 1.2 million people voted, and the result was a landslide: 65.4% said yes.
That overwhelming result was the final straw. Musk, who’s flirted with political reform before, went all in. His plan? Target key Congressional seats and create a disruptive swing bloc that can kill the worst globalist, pork-laden bills pushed by establishment sellouts in both parties.
“We’re not here to play nice with either side,” Musk said. “We’re here to stop the madness. America deserves better than this uniparty clown show.”
While some conservatives celebrated Musk’s rebellion, others expressed concern that splitting the right-wing vote could hand the far-left more power.
“Your third party will disproportionately take votes from the right vs. the left and give the left an easier path to power,” warned conservative firebrand Shawn Farash.
Political strategist Joey Mannarino echoed the sentiment, urging Musk to focus on reforming the GOP from within instead of starting from scratch.
Skeptics also noted that Musk’s poll was informal and open to bots and non-citizens—an argument that sounds eerily like legacy media spin. The fact remains: the two-party duopoly is crumbling under the weight of its own lies, debt, and betrayal of the American worker.
Historically, third-party efforts have struggled. Ross Perot came closest in 1992, winning nearly 19% of the popular vote but zero Electoral College votes. Others, like Ralph Nader and Gary Johnson, never truly moved the needle.
But Musk isn’t some fringe protest candidate. He’s one of the world’s richest men, a tech innovator, and a cultural juggernaut. With control of X, influence in media, and a massive fanbase, he has the resources, reach, and raw defiance to make waves—possibly even break the system.
And while the media and political class try to dismiss him, their fear is obvious.
The America Party is real. It’s loud. And it’s not backing down. Elon Musk has declared war on the bloated swamp in D.C., and whether he siphons off disaffected Democrats, frustrated Republicans, or both—the status quo just got its biggest challenge in a generation.
