WATCH LIVE: Elon Musk Interview with Trump, new details

The former president will be interviewed by Elon Musk, with the conversation airing on Trump’s @RealDonaldTrump account on X (formerly Twitter). While it’s uncertain if Trump will continue using the platform beyond this interview, the event has generated significant anticipation.

The interview has broken the internet, as many people are not able to join and watch. Don’t worry you haven’t missed anything. It’s just music for now. They’re working on fixing the issues before they start so more people can join.

A message from Trump’s team announced the upcoming interview, stating, “President Trump is asking you to like this post. President Trump will be interviewed by Elon Musk on Monday at 8 pm Eastern. Like this post to be notified when the interview begins. IT WILL BE THE INTERVIEW OF THE CENTURY! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The interview was initially teased by Trump on Truth Social, where he posted, “ON MONDAY NIGHT I’LL BE DOING A MAJOR INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK — Details to follow!”

During his presidency, Trump was known for his prolific and often provocative tweets, which frequently dominated the news cycle. However, following the events of January 6, 2021, Twitter, then under CEO Jack Dorsey, permanently suspended Trump’s account, citing concerns that his tweets could incite further violence. Facebook also took similar action against Trump.

Although Trump had urged his followers to remain calm and peaceful on that day, his calls were largely overshadowed by the violent actions of some of his supporters at the Capitol. Twitter justified the suspension by stating, “After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”

Despite Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and rebranding it as X with a renewed focus on free speech, Trump has largely remained on his own social media platform, Truth Social. His only post on X since the ban was in August 2023, following his booking in Fulton County, Georgia, on RICO charges. That post, featuring his mugshot, quickly went viral.

Musk, who has shown support for Trump, notably endorsed him after an assassination attempt on the former president on July 13, saying, “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.”
