Newly released undercover footage from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) reveals chilling discussions among Planned Parenthood employees about the sale of aborted fetal body parts. The footage, recorded in 2015 at a National Abortion Federation trade show by David Daleiden and his CMP team, has been made public after an eight-year legal battle.
The footage exposes disturbing practices at Planned Parenthood’s Houston branch. According to CMP, this clinic performed abortions up to six months and sold fetal parts for experiments until the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson ended Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice in Texas on June 24, 2022.
In the video, Dr. Ann Schutt-Ainé, Chief Medical Officer of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, and Tram Nguyen, RN and Vice President of Abortion Access at Planned Parenthood Houston, discuss the details of their procedures with shocking candor.
In one exchange, Schutt-Ainé states, “You told me about the proposition, and so now every time I do a D&E [dilation and evacuation abortion], I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s some lungs, there’s some kidneys.’”
Nguyen is seen laughing as she recalls a particularly gruesome incident where a fetus was dismembered during an abortion. “I’m like, ‘Yeah, I have like a leg for you!’ I’m like, oh sh, if other people were to hear me, they’d be like, you are f*ing evil,” she says.
The footage also reveals how the clinic manipulated medical procedures to avoid violating federal partial-birth abortion laws while profiting from the sale of fetal tissue. The Texas branch reportedly discussed delivering late-term fetuses intact and alive, then mutilating the bodies afterward to cover up violations of the law.
Schutt-Ainé explains the process: “A lot of it has to do with dilation of the mother’s cervix, the opening to the uterus. Because when you have good dilation, a cervix that’s either well-dilated and/or just softer and more pliable, then as you bring the fetus down, you can get more of it out before disarticulation occurs. Typically, it can take three or four ‘passes’ of the forceps into the birth canal to get the fetus out.”
Nguyen adds, “There are some that are like, I need you to make one more pass, one more pass.”
In another disturbing moment, Nguyen recounts a rushed procedure on a 16-year-old girl, regretting that it was not “more intact.” She mocks the aborted bodies of conjoined twins, describing it with contorted hand gestures and saying, “I was like, it’s really cool though. There’s like three legs and like two spinal cords.”
The footage also captures Schutt-Ainé unintentionally acknowledging that they are aware their victims are human. She recalls a patient who requested footprints, and she responded by carefully ensuring the fetus’s feet were preserved for prints.
Nguyen excitedly interrupts this conversation, shouting, “We did footprints and handprints, baby!” as if celebrating a grotesque achievement.
According to CMP, a few weeks after this conversation in June 2015, CMP sent Nguyen and Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast VP of Research Melissa Farrell an undercover contract offering $750 per fetal liver and $1,600 per pair of fetal liver and thymus. In unsealed emails produced in federal court, Nguyen forwarded the contract to the clinic’s Regional Medical & Surgical Services Director, Dyann Santos, indicating their intent to move forward with the deal.
For years, conservatives have accused Planned Parenthood of profiting from the sale of aborted fetal body parts. This newly released video provides undeniable evidence that these accusations reflect a horrifying reality.
