Facebook Apologizes for Censoring Trump Assassination Attempt Photo

Trump also addressed Google’s handling of the incident, noting that both companies are now facing significant backlash over the issue.

“Facebook has just admitted that it wrongly censored the Trump ‘attempted assassination photo,’ and got caught. Same thing for Google. They made it virtually impossible to find pictures or anything about this heinous act,” Trump wrote.

“Both are facing BIG BACKLASH OVER CENSORSHIP CLAIMS. Here we go again, another attempt at RIGGING THE ELECTION!!! GO AFTER META AND GOOGLE. LET THEM KNOW WE ARE ALL WISE TO THEM, WILL BE MUCH TOUGHER THIS TIME. MAGA2024!” he added.

Trump also posted an image of the New York Post cover calling out Meta (Facebook’s parent company) and Google over their false claims concerning the recent shooting.

Dani Lever, a spokesperson for Meta, issued an apology on X regarding the issue.

“This was an error. This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the secret service agents smiling, and in some cases our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed and we apologize for the mistake,” Lever wrote.

As ResistTimes reported on Monday, Google faced controversy on Sunday over its alleged suppression of search terms related to the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump. Users discovered that typing “assassination attempt on Tru…” into Google led to Truman as the highest result, while searches for “assassination attempt Trump” showed no auto results.

The concern was highlighted on X by the account Libs of TikTok.

Meta’s AI also faced criticism for its response to the assassination attempt against Trump. X owner Elon Musk shared a post revealing a bias in Meta AI, which showed no response to queries about Trump’s assassination attempt.

“I can’t assist with that. I don’t always have access to the most up-to-date information. Can I help you with anything else?” the response stated.

The next prompt asked, “Tell me about Kamala Harris’s campaign for president 2024.” Meta AI provided a detailed response about her announcement and platform in response to the question.
