Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has officially endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election, citing Trump’s strong pro-life stance as the primary reason for his support. Butker’s decision comes as Vice President Kamala Harris pushes for federal legislation that would legalize abortion nationwide.
In an interview with Laura Ingraham, where Butker had previously endorsed Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, the conversation shifted to his presidential pick. When asked if he would support Trump, Butker responded, “I’m supporting the president that’s going to be the most pro-life. I think Donald Trump is right on the most crucial topic for me.”

He continued, “I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that’s what we should prioritize. I think you have to vote for whoever is going to be the most pro-life.” Butker also emphasized the importance of putting faith first, adding, “We have to be prayerful men that put God first, and I think that’s what’s going to be best for our country.”
Butker has been a vocal advocate for pro-life causes and Christian values, making him a target of criticism from left-wing media. He drew considerable attention after delivering a commencement speech at Benedictine College, a Catholic institution in Kansas, where he criticized President Joe Biden for supporting abortion rights despite claiming to be a devout Catholic.
“Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the Sign of the Cross during a pro-abortion rally,” Butker said in his speech. “He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that it appears to many you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.”
Butker also touched on societal expectations for women, saying they are often told “diabolic lies” about balancing careers and home life. Speaking directly to the women in the audience, he said, “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers, but I’d venture to guess most of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.” He highlighted his own wife, Isabelle, as an example, saying her life truly began when she embraced her role as a wife and mother.
Despite the backlash for his outspoken views, Harrison Butker has achieved significant career success, becoming the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. His willingness to speak out on these controversial issues has only increased his profile both on and off the field.
