Hours after the tragic school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, law enforcement raided the family home of Natalie Lynn Rupnow, the 15-year-old student responsible for the attack.
Rupnow, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the incident, killed two people and injured six others before taking her own life.
According to WISN, SWAT teams arrived at Rupnow’s home on Delaware Boulevard at approximately 1 p.m. local time, about two hours after the shooting.
The residence, located roughly eight miles from the school, became the center of an intense police operation as authorities searched for evidence connected to the attack.
Witnesses described the forceful entry as sounding like a “bomb going off” when the SWAT team removed the front door from its hinges.
Tactical teams with weapons drawn surrounded the property, while federal agents and local police utilized tactical vehicles and breaching equipment.
The search continued for several hours, with caution tape establishing a security perimeter that remained in place into the evening.
Neighbors recounted hearing flash bangs during the operation. One resident, speaking to NBC News, described taking shelter with his wife in their basement: “After the first boom, that’s when we’re like, oh, we probably shouldn’t be up here.” The couple remained in the basement for approximately 45 minutes until officers gave the all-clear.
Investigators reportedly spoke with Rupnow’s father, who is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
At 10:57 a.m., police were dispatched to Abundant Life Christian School following a distressing 911 call from a second-grade student. Rupnow opened fire during study hall in the school library, targeting students and staff.
The attack resulted in the deaths of one student and one teacher. Six others were injured, two of whom remain in critical condition. Rupnow, who was a student at the school, died in transport to the hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In the aftermath of the shooting, disturbing details about Rupnow’s mindset and potential motives emerged. An account on X (formerly Twitter) named @PETR0GRAD claimed to have accessed a Discord chat where Rupnow allegedly shared her thoughts and intentions leading up to the attack.
A portion of a purported manifesto draft, shared on X, revealed extremist rhetoric rooted in misandrist ideologies. The excerpt read:
“[W]omen are the only hope for this wretched world. But even women have been brainwashed by moids for too long they’ve internalized the patriarchy and turned on each other, always begging for male approval and validation. It’s disgusting. I realize the truth: men are irredeemable.”
The manifesto continued:
“Radfem Hitler was fcking vindicated now. They can’t be reformed or redeemed. They’re a fcking scourge upon the earth. The only solution is to totally exterminate them and every foid who worships these f*cking parasites. Every single male must be wiped out, from babies to the elderly. Only then can women be free to create a new world.”
The raid and emerging manifesto details have left the Madison community reeling as they try to comprehend the tragedy. Parents, students, and staff members at Abundant Life Christian School are grappling with the senseless violence and its devastating toll.
Law enforcement officials have yet to determine a definitive motive for the shooting. Investigators are actively reviewing evidence collected during the raid on Rupnow’s home and analyzing communications, including the contents of the Discord chat.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes addressed the situation during a late-evening briefing, confirming that the search of a residence was connected to the investigation into the school shooting. Authorities have not released additional details about what was recovered during the raid.
Rupnow, who reportedly went by the name “Samantha,” had no known history of violent behavior. However, the discovery of the extremist writings has raised significant concerns about her radicalization and what may have influenced her actions leading up to the attack.
As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials remain focused on uncovering all factors that contributed to the tragedy, including Rupnow’s online activity, communications, and personal background.
The events at Abundant Life Christian School have left a profound impact on the Madison community. The SWAT raid on Rupnow’s family home marks a critical step in the investigation as authorities seek to determine what drove the teenager to commit such a horrific act.
