Dr. Kevin O’Connor, President Joe Biden’s physician, issued a memo on Monday to the White House press secretary stating that Biden’s COVID-19 symptoms “have almost completely resolved.”
“President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning,” O’Connor wrote. “His symptoms have almost completely resolved. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air, and his lungs remain clear.”
“The President continues to perform all of his presidential duties,” O’Connor added. “I will continue to keep your office updated with any changes in his condition or treatment plan.”
On Wednesday, Biden’s campaign suspended all events after announcing that the president had been diagnosed with COVID-19. Following his last event in Nevada that day, he flew back to Delaware, where he has been recuperating at home. On Sunday, his X account announced that he was withdrawing from the presidential race.
The withdrawal letter stated that he would speak further about his decision during the coming week, though no events have been announced by the White House. In the meantime, Kamala Harris has launched her campaign for president after Biden’s X account tweeted endorsing her to lead the Democratic ticket.
Harris has received numerous endorsements since then, including those from Governors Gretchen Whitmer and Gavin Newsom, both of whom are speculated to be potential running mates for Harris.
Biden has not been seen publicly since Wednesday, prompting many to ask about his whereabouts, with “Where is Joe Biden” trending on X.
