MSNBC’s Joy Reid stated that people of color in America would appear “crazy” and “weird” if they don’t support Vice President Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee.
In an apparent call for solidarity among people of color in America, Reid said, “Given the just stratospheric entrance of Vice President Kamala Harris into the presidential campaign – and she has now secured enough delegates to become the nominee – you’re going to look real crazy being on the other side of that line, particularly as a person of color.”
“But really, as anyone who claims to have any connection to the culture, you’re going to look crazy being on that side given the cultural phenomenon of Vice President Kamala Devi Harris,” Reid continued.
She added that Americans of color would “look real weird and real lonely” if they do not support Harris in the upcoming election, emphasizing her potential status as the “first woman president.”
Before Biden withdrew from the race, Reid had been a staunch defender of the president, even comparing Biden’s recent Covid bout to Trump’s experience of nearly getting killed by gunfire, calling both equally heroic.
Reid also propagated theories that Trump had been hit with glass rather than a bullet, echoing other left-wing pundits online who reacted similarly to the incident. She suggested that the assassination attempt was merely an opportunity for a Trump photo-op, stating, “Donald Trump is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take an iconic photo-op during an active shooter situation.”
