Kamala Harris admits everything was more affordable

Kamala Harris visited Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday to introduce a price control initiative aimed at addressing the inflation crisis. Critics argue that her policies have contributed to rising costs for essential items such as meat, poultry, eggs, car insurance, housing, and baked goods.

The Trump campaign has been vocal in its criticism of Harris, holding her accountable for what they describe as the worst inflation crisis in a century. Much of this criticism centers around her tie-breaking vote in favor of the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ (IRA), which they claim has exacerbated the economic difficulties faced by Americans.

According to the Trump campaign, the following price increases have occurred since Harris took office:

  • Groceries are up 21.6%
  • Eggs are up 46.8%
  • Car insurance is up 55%
  • Home prices are up 22%
  • Baking goods prices have risen by 27.2%, including:
  • Butter: up 30.9%
  • Flour: up 37.5%
  • Cooking oil: up 38.3%
  • Prices for meat, poultry, and fish have increased by 23%, with:
  • Bacon and sausage: up 19.5%
  • Lunch meat: up 23.2%

During her visit, Harris acknowledged that inflation has made life more difficult for Americans, stating that “a loaf of bread costs 50% more today than before the pandemic, and ground beef is up almost 50%.” She also admitted that the American dream has become increasingly out of reach due to these economic challenges.

Critics, including the Trump campaign, have seized on these remarks, using them to fuel their narrative that Harris’s policies have failed and contributed to the current economic struggles. Some have even suggested that Harris’s limited public appearances are due to concerns about how her statements might impact public perception.

The Trump campaign and its supporters have used these moments to create political ad highlighting what they see as the failures of Harris’s economic policies.
