Kamala to replace Biden in ABC hosted debate | Stays silent on Fox News offer

At Joint Base Andrews on Thursday afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she will be taking President Joe Biden’s place in the previously scheduled ABC presidential debate on September 10 against Donald Trump. With Biden withdrawing from the presidential race, Harris is poised to become the Democratic nominee.

“So many of you have been asking me about the debate, and I’ll tell you, I’m ready to debate Donald Trump. I have agreed to the previously agreed upon September 10 debate. He agreed to that previously; now it appears he’s backpedaling, but I’m ready,” Harris told reporters.

“I think the voters deserve to see the stark contrast in this race on a debate stage. So I’m ready—let’s go,” she added. Reporters attempted to ask Harris about the proposed Fox News debate, but she walked away without answering.

Fox News invites Trump, Kamala to September 17 debate in PA after Biden quits race. A letter from Fox News Media president and executive editor Jay Wallace to Trump campaign co-managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles stated that the proposed date would coincide with the beginning of early voting in the state and other battleground states. Wallace suggested that hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum “are the best choices to moderate.”

The letter followed Trump’s challenge to Harris for a debate on the network. “My debate with Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the history of the United States, was slated to be broadcast on Fake News ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, sometime in September. Now that Joe has, not surprisingly, quit the race, I think the debate, with whomever the Radical Left Democrats choose, should be held on Fox News, rather than the very biased ABC. Thank you!” Trump stated.
