A Texas man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly trespassing at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to authorities, the man claimed he was on a mission to “spread the Gospel” to Trump and marry his granddaughter, Kai Trump.
Palm Beach police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Anthony Thomas Reyes. Officers say Reyes admitted to Secret Service agents that he jumped over the wall surrounding Mar-a-Lago in the early hours of the morning. Secret Service personnel confirmed that Reyes had bypassed normal security protocols and entered the grounds without permission.
The property, which serves as Trump’s permanent residence, was not open to guests at the time of the breach. Authorities noted this was not Reyes’ first offense—he had previously trespassed at Mar-a-Lago in December 2024.
Reyes reportedly told police he wanted to deliver a religious message directly to Trump and also intended to propose to 18-year-old Kai Trump, the president’s granddaughter and the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. Kai is a competitive golfer committed to playing at the University of Miami.
Reyes was booked on one count of trespassing. His bond has been set at $50,000. As part of the court’s conditions, he is prohibited from contacting any member of the Trump family, including Kai, or approaching any of Trump’s properties. He is also barred from possessing firearms or other weapons.
Mar-a-Lago became a federally protected site in July 2024, with the U.S. Secret Service overseeing security under 18 U.S. Code, Title 1752. A secure perimeter surrounds the estate, and all entrants must pass through a designated screening zone adjacent to the property.
According to the Palm Beach Police Department, multiple “No Trespassing” signs are prominently displayed around the estate, which is constantly monitored by Secret Service and local law enforcement.
Since Trump’s presidency, Mar-a-Lago has seen multiple trespassing incidents, raising ongoing concerns about the safety of the former president and his family. This latest episode adds to a pattern of unauthorized entries despite strict federal protections around the property.
This is a developing story and updates will follow as more details become available.
