Marianne Williamson says Dem’s attacking claims that Haitians are ‘eating cats’ will backfire: ‘Voodoo is real’

Marianne Williamson, a former Democratic presidential candidate, warned fellow Democrats that dismissing claims about Haitian migrants eating pets could harm their electoral chances, also stating, “voodoo is real.” She criticized Democrats, labeling them “smug elite jerks who think they’re too smart to listen to anyone outside their own silo.”

This followed reports from Springfield, Ohio, residents on social media alleging that Haitian migrants had been capturing and consuming pets and geese. Local officials, however, have denied receiving any credible reports on the matter. Vice President Kamala Harris used these claims to criticize former President Donald Trump, who had addressed the issue during the recent presidential debate.

Democratic voters have strongly condemned the unverified claims, with many calling them racist.

Williamson cautioned against continuing to target Trump over the “eating cats” issue, stating in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), “Haitian voodoo is in fact real,” according to The Blaze. She added that dismissing such stories “confirms in the minds of many voters the stereotype of Democrats as smug elite jerks who think they’re too smart to listen to anyone outside their own silo.”

Residents in Springfield have called for local authorities to address issues stemming from the influx of Haitian migrants, aside from the pet-eating accusations. Concerns about public safety have been raised, including claims that reckless driving by Haitian migrants, unfamiliar with U.S. road laws, has turned the city into a “combat zone.” Residents allege that the migrants have been obtaining driver’s licenses without adequate training or knowledge of local traffic regulations.
