Planned Parenthood’s mobile abortion clinic bus will be offering free medication abortions and vasectomies near the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago next week. The Great Rivers Planned Parenthood made the announcement on its social media account.
“Here we come, Chicago! Our mobile health clinic will be in the West Loop with Chicago Abortion Fund & the Wieners Circle on August 19-20, providing FREE vasectomies & medication abortion. Emergency contraception will also be available for free without an appointment,” Planned Parenthood Great Rivers posted. This branch of Planned Parenthood operates in parts of Missouri and Illinois.
To reserve a spot for an abortion or vasectomy, individuals are directed to fill out a Google form that states, “Planned Parenthood Great Rivers is bringing our mobile health care unit to the DNC! We are offering vasectomy and medication abortions from the mobile unit in the West Loop. Services will be provided on a sliding-fee scale—pay what you can and get the health care you need.”
While abortion appointments are available on August 19 and 20, vasectomy appointments are already fully booked, though a waitlist is available. Walk-ins are also welcome for those who do not register online.
Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, along with her running mate Tim Walz, both support pro-abortion policies. According to the New York Times, a pro-abortion demonstration is expected outside the DNC, featuring an 18-foot-tall inflatable IUD named “Freeda Womb” and other demonstration props. Additionally, a “Hotties for Harris” event will be hosted by pro-abortion activists.
