Schiff Tells Biden to Drop Out of 2024 Race

Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff on Wednesday called on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

“A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November,” Schiff said in a statement reported by The Los Angeles Times.

“While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden’s alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch,” Schiff continued. “In doing so, he can secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election.”

Democrats in Congress have resumed their attacks on Biden after a brief pause following the assassination attempt against Trump.

Nearly two dozen Democrat lawmakers have called for Biden to drop out of the 2024 race following his poor debate performance.

The calls for Biden to step aside paused briefly after a bullet grazed Trump’s ear at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday.

However, Democrats are now challenging the DNC’s plan for an early ‘virtual roll call.’

The DNC scheduled a virtual roll call as early as July 21 to nominate Joe Biden before the DNC Convention in Chicago, responding to Ohio’s ballot access rules.

Congressional Democrats are circulating a letter addressed to the DNC, arguing there is no legal justification for an early virtual roll call because the Ohio legislature changed the ballot rules to accommodate Biden.

The Democrats want to leave room for ‘debate’ before the DNC Convention in August.
