JUST IN: Tim Pool plans to sue Kamala Harris campaign for defamation

Tim Pool is planning to take legal action against Kamala Harris‘ presidential campaign after her campaign’s X account, Kamala HQ, posted an out-of-context clip falsely suggesting that Pool was advocating for the death penalty against Democrats if Donald Trump were to win a second term.

The campaign’s post on X stated, “Trump operatives say their Project 2025 plan is to give Trump total, unchecked legal power so they can jail and execute those who don’t support Trump if he wins.” The post further alleged that Pool’s video was removed from YouTube to hide this supposed endorsement.

In response, Pool announced, “I have engaged legal counsel. We are preparing to take action. More to come.” On Tuesday, he elaborated on his morning show, clarifying that he is neither affiliated with the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 nor the Trump campaign. He stated he has always opposed the death penalty and that the video was removed specifically because he does not support such extreme measures.

“I feel that the lies from the Kamala campaign have become so shockingly, shockingly egregious, they strike at the conscience of any good, rational American,” Pool explained as he outlined the grounds for his lawsuit.

He continued, “We are preparing a lawsuit against the Kamala Harris campaign due to a defamatory statement posted on X which is extreme, egregious.” Pool emphasized that the accusation was not only directed at him but also involved Laura Loomer, despite the fact that the two are independent of one another. He called the allegations “a shocking and egregious lie that goes so far beyond the pale.”

Pool also pointed out that he is not “a Trump operative” and has never worked for or received funding from the Trump campaign. “I am in no way associated with Project 2025,” he clarified. “Though I’ve interviewed some of the people who are associated with it, Timcast is not, has not, and will not be a part of or in any way related to Project 2025.”

Addressing the defamatory claims, Pool stressed, “I am opposed to the death penalty in all circumstances. I do not trust the government to decide who gets to live and die, and I will never support the death penalty or any type of executions.” He added that the clip posted by the Kamala campaign was him arguing against the death penalty and telling Laura Loomer she was wrong on the issue.

Pool also stated his intention to pursue legal action: “My intention is to immediately file a lawsuit and approach every legally correct avenue to do that… We have begun this process, and I fully intend to see it through.”

Although he strongly opposes capital punishment, Pool does believe that certain high-ranking Democrats should be prosecuted for alleged crimes. He cited President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents and Attorney General Merrick Garland’s actions regarding the unequal application of the law.
