Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, confirmed on X on Wednesday that he has agreed to a debate on October 1, hosted by CBS News.
Walz’s confirmation came in response to a post by CBS News that listed potential dates for a debate between him and the Republican vice presidential nominee, Senator JD Vance. Walz reposted the graphic with the caption, “See you on Oct. 1, JD.”
As of now, Senator Vance has not publicly responded to the debate invitation. Both Vance and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
A spokesperson for the Harris campaign stated, “Harris for President has accepted CBS’ invitation to a vice presidential candidate debate on October 1. Governor Walz looks forward to debating JD Vance—if he shows up.”
CBS had proposed four possible debate dates: September 17, September 24, October 1, and October 8.
