Former President Donald Trump made bold assertions about the current leadership in the White House during a recent interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”
Trump claimed that significant decisions within the Biden administration are being made by a group he labeled as “fascists, communists” and “Marxists.”
During his conversation with host Laura Ingraham, Trump positioned himself as a protector of democracy, stating, “I’m the opposite of a threat to democracy — they’re a threat to democracy.”
He accused Democrats of orchestrating what he termed a “coup” by allegedly replacing President Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris as the real leader of the country.
Trump asserted that Biden’s presidency had been taken from him “like he was a child,” and that this occurred against the First Lady’s wishes.
When asked who he believed was running the country while Harris campaigned and concerns about Biden’s mental acuity persisted, Trump replied, “A group of people that are fascists, communists, Marxists.” He suggested these individuals “circle” both the Oval Office and the Department of Justice.
Trump expressed doubt about Biden’s involvement in major decisions, stating, “I don’t think he knows he’s alive.” This comment came in response to Ingraham’s question about whether Biden was making any significant decisions.
The discussion then turned to the upcoming election, with Trump acknowledging that he will likely face Harris as the Democratic nominee at the August Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Ingraham noted that Harris lists her pronouns as “she/her” in her X biography and asked Trump about his own pronouns.
Trump dismissed the question, saying, “I don’t want pronouns,” and challenged Harris to explain the concept, adding, “Nobody even knows what that means.”
Trump called for a return to “sanity” in the country, describing the Republican Party as one based on “common sense.” He outlined the GOP’s priorities, including low taxes, quality education, and reviving the concept of the American Dream for future generations.
“We want the American Dream for our children. I want the American Dream. I want my children to say, ‘Man, this is great.’ You don’t even hear about the American Dream anymore. You heard about it four years ago, but you don’t hear about it anymore,” Trump stated.
The former president emphasized the importance of common sense in governance, contrasting it with what he perceives as the current administration’s approach.
As the 2024 presidential race intensifies, speculation continues about Harris’s VP pick.
Harris’s campaign team is reportedly in the final stages of vetting candidates, with interviews scheduled in the coming days for several top contenders, including Arizona Senator Mark Kelly; Minnesota Governor Tim Walz; Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear; and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Politico, however, names Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as Harris’s surprising frontrunner.
The 51-year-old governor has gained attention for his popularity and experience, with supporters arguing that his presence on the ticket could help secure the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania.
