Trump to return to Assassination Attempt Location for new Campaign Rally “Fight, fight, fight”

President Donald Trump has announced his return to Butler, Pennsylvania—the city where he was injured in an assassination attempt—for a campaign rally.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the rally would honor Corey Comperatore, the former Buffalo Township fireman who was tragically killed during the shooting, as well as the two individuals who were wounded.

“I will be going back to Butler, Pennsylvania, for a big and beautiful rally, honoring the soul of our beloved firefighting hero, Corey, and those brave patriots injured two weeks ago,” Trump wrote on Friday. “What a day it will be — fight, fight, fight! Stay tuned for details.”

The specific date for the Butler rally has not been announced.

On July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from a rooftop outside the Butler County Fairgrounds, firing eight rounds in under six seconds before being shot by Secret Service, CBS News reported.

President Trump was grazed in the ear, while two rally-goers, David Dutch and James Copenhaver, were critically injured.

After being shot, the president stood up, looked at the audience, and pumped his fist, yelling “Fight!” as he was rushed from the stage by the Secret Service.

Corey Comperatore was killed while heroically shielding his wife and daughter from the gunfire.

The Secret Service has faced scrutiny for their handling of security during the Butler rally and has advised the Trump campaign against holding outdoor rallies following the shooting, according to the Washington Post.

Despite this, Trump is set to return to Pennsylvania prior to the upcoming rally in Butler, announcing a campaign event in Harrisburg on July 31. This will be his first visit to the state since the assassination attempt.
