Washington Commanders suspend VP who insulted NFL players, fans in latest undercover video

The Washington Commanders have suspended their Vice President of Content, Rael Enteen, following his controversial remarks about the NFL and its fans, which were captured in an undercover video by James O’Keefe’s media organization, O’Keefe Media Group.

The video, posted on X, shows Enteen speaking candidly during several dates with an undercover journalist, where he made a number of contentious comments. In one clip, Enteen claims, “Over 50 percent of our roster is either white religious — ‘and God says f*ck the gays’ another big chunk is very low-income African-American that comes from a community that is inherently very homophobic.” He also described some NFL players as “dumb as all hell.”

Enteen didn’t hold back on his views of the NFL fanbase either, saying, “Most of the fans, I would say, are high-school-educated alcoholics… There’s fights in the stands all the time.” When asked if he thought the fans were “lower class people,” Enteen replied, “I hate to use that term. I would just say mouth-breathers,” before laughing.

His criticism extended to NFL leadership as well. Enteen referred to Commissioner Roger Goodell as a “$50 million puppet” controlled by team owners and claimed that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones “really runs the NFL” and “hates gay people and black people.”

On the topic of the NFL’s social justice initiatives, Enteen dismissed them as “performative,” asserting, “It’s not done out of the goodness of their heart and morality. It’s done because George Floyd changed the game.” He further explained that the NFL’s emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is more about maintaining a positive public image than fostering genuine progress.

“I think the NFL cares about the bottom line like any corporation, above all else,” Enteen stated. “They don’t really need to pinch pennies because they have so much revenue. Therefore, they can faux-prioritize DEI for the sake of good publicity.”

Following the video’s release, a spokesperson for the Washington Commanders told the New York Post that Enteen had been suspended.

“The language used in the video runs counter to our values at the Commanders organization. We have suspended the employee pending an internal investigation and will reserve further comment at this time,” the spokesperson said.
