The announcement was made via X, and the last time Biden was seen in public was on Wednesday when he tested positive for COVID-19, forcing him to cancel remaining events in Nevada.
In his announcement, Biden stated that he would “speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision,” but no further details were provided. Some social media users have even questioned whether Biden actually signed the letter announcing his withdrawal from the race after comparing signatures.
By Monday afternoon, the phrase “Where is Joe Biden” had reached number three in trending topics on X in the United States, more than 24 hours after the announcement.
“Where is Joe Biden? Serious question. Is he okay?” asked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
“It’s the following day. There’s been no press conference, interviews, photos, or posts from him,” wrote women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines. “It’s been asked, but it’s worth reiterating. Where is Joe Biden?”
“Where IS Joe Biden? Astounding that he hasn’t been seen or heard from since quitting the race,” wrote Piers Morgan.
Former New York Legislator Ben Geller said, “I have a serious question, and it’s not sarcastic… Where is Joe Biden? Things are starting to look extremely strange in my training & experience. I mean this with respect, is he even alive? Americans deserve proof of life NOW!”
