Trump says Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete and total ceasefire

President Donald Trump announced Monday evening that Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete and total ceasefire, following a weekend of high-stakes military action that saw the U.S. strike key Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Congratulations to everyone!” Trump declared on Truth Social. “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire (in approximately 6 hours from now, once both sides complete their final missions) for 12 hours, at which point the war will be considered ended.”

Trump outlined a phased ceasefire, beginning with Iran initiating peace at Hour 0, followed by Israel joining at Hour 12. By the 24th hour, Trump said, the world will salute the official end of the 12 Day War.

He praised both countries for showing stamina, courage, and intelligence and said the conflict “could have gone on for years and destroyed the entire Middle East — but it didn’t, and it never will.” Trump closed with a sweeping declaration: “God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and God bless the world!”

The dramatic ceasefire comes just days after the U.S. carried out precision strikes on three of Iran’s top nuclear sites — Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan — using B-2 stealth bombers equipped with bunker-buster bombs. The strikes, approved by President Trump, were a show of force following Iran’s refusal to stand down on its nuclear ambitions.

In response, Iran launched a barrage of 10 missiles at U.S. bases in Qatar, according to Axios. Qatar temporarily closed its airspace as explosions were reported near the capital, Doha. Reports indicate Iran coordinated the timing with Qatar to minimize casualties, suggesting the regime wanted to send a message — not start a full-scale war.

Despite the provocation, President Trump called for restraint and peace, opting for diplomacy after proving America’s overwhelming military superiority.

Vice President JD Vance, in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, praised President Trump and confirmed he had advance knowledge of the ceasefire agreement. “This is leadership,” Vance said, calling Trump’s handling of the crisis bold, strategic, and decisive.
