Trump privately approved attack plans for Iran pending final order, WSJ reports

President Donald Trump has officially approved military attack plans for nuclear facilities inside Iran but is strategically holding off on execution—giving the Islamic regime one final chance to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons, according to CBS News.

Sources say the Trump administration is targeting the heavily fortified underground uranium enrichment site at Fordow, a key node in Iran’s weapons ambitions. Trump, however, is keeping the world guessing. In a Thursday post on Truth Social, he dismissed reports from the Wall Street Journal, stating they “have no idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran.”

The decision-making comes as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei arrogantly rejected Trump’s call for “unconditional surrender.” In a televised rant, Khamenei warned of a “costly” U.S. intervention and insisted that Iran would never bow to American pressure. Trump responded bluntly: “Good luck.” Then added cryptically, “I may do it, I may not do it… Unconditional surrender – that means I’ve had it.”

Iranian officials have since tried to mock the president online, calling him a “has-been warmonger.” But it’s clear Tehran is rattled. Roads out of the Iranian capital have reportedly been flooded with citizens desperate to flee the city as Israeli airstrikes continue pounding strategic targets.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his forces are “progressing step by step,” saying they are striking “the nuclear sites, the missiles, the headquarters, the symbols of the regime.” He added confidently, “We control the skies over Tehran.”

Back in Washington, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth assured lawmakers the Pentagon is fully prepared to act on Trump’s orders. American forces in the region are surging: two carrier strike groups—the USS Nimitz and USS Carl Vinson—are now in position, with F-22 and F-35 aircraft, refueling tankers, and surveillance planes streaming in from Europe.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to meet with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy to coordinate diplomatic strategy, though the U.S. has not formally requested access to British bases for operations.

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has activated evacuation plans for American citizens, as Iran continues to fire missiles at Israeli cities. While Israel reports at least 24 civilian deaths from Iran’s retaliation, Tehran claims over 500 dead from Israeli airstrikes.

Meanwhile, Iranian state TV warned its viewers not to believe a satellite hack that broadcast footage calling for nationwide rebellion. The regime blamed “enemy jamming,” but many saw it as a sign that internal dissent is growing.

For now, Trump holds the cards—and the world watches to see if the ayatollahs blink.
